
PbSe (IR Detectors)
Opto Diode’s PbSe detectors (lead selenide, B-Series) deliver high sensitivity and fast response across the 1 µm to 5 µm mid-wave infrared spectrum, with peak response between 3.6 µm and 4.7 µm depending on model, cooling, and filtering. The line spans uncooled BXP-series detectors, one-stage cooled BXT1 models, and two-stage cooled BXT2 and BXT2S models with element temperatures down to −45 °C, in active areas from 1 mm × 1 mm to 6 mm × 6 mm and hermetic TO-5, TO-8, and TO-37 packages; a 4.7 µm bandpass-filtered version is also offered. Their high detectivity (D*) and low noise make them ideal for gas analysis and spectroscopy, flame and combustion monitoring, emissions monitoring, and industrial process control. Custom configurations are available, and every detector is manufactured at Opto Diode’s Camarillo, California facility under ISO 9001:2015 quality control.
